Risks

Tremble: your whole life is a rehearsal for the moment you are in now.

To laugh - is to risk appearing the fool.

To weep - is to risk appearing sentimental.

To reach out for another - is to risk involvement.

To expose feelings - is to risk exposing your true self.

To love - is to risk not being loved in return.

To live - is to risk dying.

To hope - is to risk despair.

To try - is to risk failure.

But risk must be taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.

The person who risks nothing does nothing - has nothing - and is nothing.

He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he cannot learn - change - grow - live - love.

Chained by his certitudes, he is a slave; he has forfeited his freedom.

Only a person who risks is free.

Judith Malina

Eudora Welty

I am a writer who came of a sheltered life. A sheltered life can be a daring life as well. For all serious daring starts from within.

I tore myself away from the safe comfort of certainties through my love for the truth; and truth rewarded me.

Simone de Beauvior

Frances Moore Lappe

The only real risk is the risk of thinking too small.

Don't be afraid to speak your mind, even if your voice shakes

Unknown
